Camcorder (these are only “prosumer”, not pro grade):
Standard definition: Canon GL2
High Definition: Sony HDR-FX7
Mics:
Sennheiser wireless systems – EW100 G3 ENG Wireless Deluxe Kit.
Includes a lavaliere and wireless handheld… and two base stations (one for each mic). Base stations are camera mountable, but if you want to do this, a special bracket is necessary.
Tripod:
Manfrotto 190XDB 3-Section Tripod & 501HDV Fluid Head
On-camera video light:
NRG 56001 Varalux Professional Dimmable DC On-Camera Light
Power supply (battery belt):
NRG 87014-1 Field-Pro system
Most of this stuff should be available from bhphotovideo or adorama.
If you want to look like the “real” news casts, they are digitizing the video coming in to $100,000 studio cameras. Just because you are on the web does not mean you get to go cheap or cut corners.
