i asked the same question and every answer i got said use a firewire cable.. but chek to see if your comp has a firewire port first or u will need an adapter of soem kind thats what im askin about now!!
most camcorders are equipped with a digital video output,or usb
connection.
you need the specific cable for your camera, and the appropriate
software to download directly from the camera.
if your model doesn’t support this option, you would need to connect
the video output to a video capture card in your computer.

Which Samsung digital camcorder? Which PC?
MiniDV and Digital8 camcorders need to use firewire. Add a firewire port and buy a cable. Launch MovieMaker or iMovie and Capture or Import.
USB is used only for HDD or flash memory – you need to install the drivers and you need a miniUSB to USB2 cable.
DVD camcorders need to have the disc finalized and the DVD will be ripped in the computer’s drawer loading DVD drive.
So… Which camcorder and which computer? Need more detail to provide you more help.
